A state-of-the-art manufacturing unit is fast coming up at Madhura in district Bhabua (Bihar), off the National Highway No.2, 45 minutes from Varanasi. The unit is promoted by Lama Bear Organic Extract Ltd.
Amidst lush green fields, the unit which integrates technologies, namely Supercritical Fluid Extraction, Ultrasonic Assisted Hydro-Ethanolic Extraction, Cryogenic System and Nano Particle Synthesis will manufacture SFE botanical actives for the food & beverage, nutrition & health and personal care and hygiene industries. Additionally, the unit will host a sophisticated R&D Centre to enable discovery and design of novel botanical actives.
IL&FS is the statutory project management agency to this one-of-its kind project on behalf of the Government of Bihar which has partly funded it under the Integrated Development of Food Processing scheme.
Lama Bear is uniquely placed as it is located at the foothills of Kaimur Hills—a part of Vindhyas and Nilgiris ranges—which according to Assocham Study Report 2010 supplies about 30% of India’s exotically organically grown herbs.
